“God loved the world so much that He sent His only Son to us.” The story of Christmas is the story of love – God’s love. When we think, pray, contemplate and wonder about this mystery, first of all we need to

give thanks to God who is not only born to us but at the same time constantly present, alive and active in our very midst in various ways. How to not rejoice and be glad that we are loved so much by our maker?
Let’s properly celebrate His marvelous entrance into the world or we have come to our King’s birthday empty-handed one more time. The problem is that when something becomes too familiar to us, we have trouble seeing it in a new way. Find the Christmas spirit in your heart. It feels warm, like a mother’s love for her child. You can’t buy it at any store, and you can’t get it from anybody else. We have to rediscover it.
At this time, let’s prepare our heart to receive God’s love. We will find God’s real active presence when we come together to celebrate Sunday Mass. Find Him in the poor and the needy. Find Him in the presence and suffering of sick, elderly and dying members. Find His presence when we come to rejoice and celebrate, play and smile in our social events. Find Him when exercise social justice and peace. Find Him in everyone you meet, no matter how difficult it may be. One thing for sure, you will find Him in the good times, and the bad times.
I ask God constantly to bless you and keep you in His loving care. May I also express my personal thanks, gratitude and appreciation to all of you and each one of you and may God help us to continue to grow into a stronger and more loving parish community in the coming New Year of the Lord 2017.
